if you don't change your dns or block updates, you run the risk of Nintendo releasing a new update that patches the browser exploit. this is unlikely to happen, but it's better to be safe than sorry. not sure what happened with it freezing. it might corrupt the data, but that's about it unless there's a hardware issue. if you get undeletable data, download a demo first, then try to delete. for some reason, that seems to work. I think it's due to it flushing the import folder. yeah, you can update games from within the home menu. if you want to use dns, you'll need nnu patcher first.

So im guessing he got a non-legit phantom hourglass to install it on and thats whats up? I bought Brain Age. i got a warning on USB Wii u Helper about ds game bricking my system. I guessing this it what its referring to?

the ticket is the problem. if it's not a legit one before sig patches are enabled, the system will brick.

im still very new. i've installed a good hand full or VC games. Paper Mario etc. this is the first time i got a warning. I followed and Wii U 2019 Softmod guide on youtube ,everything has been great . just dont wanna brick by installing Phantom Hourlglass Wii U VC game

If you already gave CBHC set up on a DS game and that game isn’t Phantom Hourglass you’re fine. The only way you would brick by installing Phantom Hourglass from USB helper is if your CBHC setup uses Phantom Hourglass. You need to use a game you don’t want to play for CBHC because you’ll never get to install it as a VC title if you’re running CBHC.

CBHC has caused dozens of bricks! Yes, I know, all user errors, but still dozens of bricks... perfectly good Wii U consoles that end up in the trash. I think it would have been better if it had never been released. Haxchi by itself is just fine, and never caused a single brick. You just spend an extra 30 secs to launch your CFW, that's it.

I used the same guide as he did, but I made a NAND backup first, which is obvious.

Also, if you compare the 2 guides, only difference is one mentions to backup the nand, the other don't. So in essence it's the same shit.

If you made a NAND backup, it can be recovered via hardmod, this is a service I offer as well. There is however a premium price for it

Honestly, I'm very curious about your prices I don't have a bricked system but I am looking to have a backup plan if shit hits the fan. DM me.
