Ok so I have some experience with home brew, having home brewed my wii, ps3, 2 2ds, and a new 3dsxl. The problem is that these dis consoles were my sibling whom have no experience. I never thought that they would issue another update for these consoles, so I never really mentioned not to update. Now they’re bricked. I can restore the 2ds with godmode 9 but with the new 3dsxl, it will not boot into godmode for me to restore. This is my main problem and any help will be appreciated

More details, please. As always…
"Bricked" is not a good description. Error message(s)? Black screens (with or without backlight)? Are you able to get Luma3DS configuration by holding (Select) on power on? Do the consoles even turn on?

Please don't NAND restore before trying other things. The best case would just be Luma3DS version incompatible with latest firmware, hence @IC_'s advise to put latest boot.firm (and boot.3dsx as well while you're at it).
About GodMode9 not starting → Make sure GodMode9.firm is in SD:/luma/payloads

It might be necessary to do a full SD check, but without further information we can't really assist you.

Good luck and have fun!

It is stuck on a screen where the background is black and an error code for arm 11 (core 1) is displayed. Can boot to luma menu and I figured out it does not have godmode9 on the as for some reason. Will boot into godmode9 with another of my sd cards. I am probably using outdated luma

Sounds good. Seems it isn't a brick. Go ahead, replace boot.firm, and don't forget updating on CTRNAND as well.

Thank you I will do that as soon as I get a new sd. I have completely copied and pasted everything from the original. I’m upgrading the 4gb
