PlayStation Blog has announced that PlayStation Plus subscriber content will now be updated every other week (instead of weekly). With no Plus additions to this week's PSN update, subscribers can look forward to new content coming next Tuesday, August 10, including a timed trial of Red Faction: Guerrilla, the August episode of Qore, a discount on PixelJunk Racers: Second Lap and a free copy of the Minis title Aero Racer.

Of course, a few previous items will be pushed off the PlayStation Plus carousel in order to make room. Click past the jump to see the particulars of next week's update.

Content to be added to PlayStation Plus on August 10

Red Faction Guerrilla from THQ – 60-minute Game Trial
Qore August Episode with exclusive demo of TerRover from SOE

They're fools, if you ask me. They could easily foster increased sales of downloadable games and other DLC with weekly specials. Rather than follow in the success of Steam, they're back pedaling. Sony should give Playstation Plus time to blossom. I know few people were impressed by the idea when it was announced at E3, but I think it could be quite a boon for both Sony and their users. There's ample stuff they could offer every week. Going to bi-monthly says to me they just want to keep the service at a simmer.

I don't know if it's just Spain or Europe, but in Spain the updates for the PSN+ are monthly from the beginning, so if this is for everyone it's better for us.

Man, I WAS gonna get PSN+ because I thought they removed free online play, but after realizing they still kept it free, I had and still have no intentions on getting it.

I really don't want free trials and exclusive offerings, because I just like playing a good game with friends.
