The October selection of games for Playstation Plus subscribers has been unveiled. See the full lineup below!

Full Lineup:
  • Super Meat Boy, PS4, PS Vita
  • Broken Age, PS4, PS Vita
  • Unmechanical: Extended, PS4, PS3
  • Chariot, PS3
  • KickBeat, PS3, PS Vita
  • Kung Fu Rabbit, PS3, PS Vita
Super Meat Boy is a pretty good platformer, not too wowed by anything else though. Interesting to see the voting mechanic didn't make a return though.

I always assumed there would be some indie/budget games in the mix, but this is getting old. Most of this stuff is crap I've picked up on PC long ago for next to nothing. And I don't really think it's asking too much to get one AAA title each month. Since it's launch, as far as I can remember, I think the PS4 as only had two AAA titles, Injustice and Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zero (which was really just a demo), and the PS3 has slowed to a trickle. It's just starting to feel like we're getting the same thing month after month.

But much like Outrun it can still be re-downloaded if you already purchased it.
Yes, but it still can't be purchased anymore, so you're out of luck if you don't already own it. Speaking of which, is there any game that can't be redownloaded?

I guess I'm the only one who likes the fact PS+ has shifted focus to indie games?

I'm really looking forward to Broken Age.

If Sony want to move the focus to indie games, that's fine. But the price should reflect that. Since the ps3, the price has gone up and argubly the quality of titles has gone down. No one is expecting AAA every month, but there are plenty of launch games (Black flag, killzone etc) that could have made their way onto the service now.

But, it was always going to happen once ps+ was required for online play. Don't have to put the effort in once you have people by the balls (well at least those who want to play online).

I don't think that's the issue. It's just underwhelming. Super Meat Boy has some age to it, Broken Age isn't very good, and the others aren't known names, even for me who tends to try to keep a constant eye out for Indies. I have since checked them out and I don't think the bundle is as bad as I initially thought. I think it would have looked a bit better if they dropped Broken Age for another big name and maybe Super Meat Boy for something newer.

Better than the last few months of "Games with Gold" though.
Ha, I don't think so! Tomb Raider Definitive, Rayman Legends, Black Flag, Child of Light and also Ground Zeros... and the offerings on 360 are far better than what the PS3 has been getting.. But don't get me wrong here, GwG is still leagues away from Plus in terms of game collection, and the 360 freebies in particular need an awful lot of catching up to the PS3s.
Then there's the fact some people will no doubt turn around and say they've already got them, but then that counts with Plus too - the only game from my list that I didn't have was Child of Light (got to say despite it being laughably easy I thoroughly enjoyed that game).

So no... I'm guessing you're not a Gold member  - BOTH services are great, and both services are gonna have poor months [in different peoples eyes]: emigre's looking forward to this month on Plus, a couple of mates are looking forward to this month on Gold, etc etc...

I just ordered a PS4 (uncharted pack) and it has 3 free months PS+ included.
I guess the PS+ games are only available as long as are PS+ member. If you stop paying, you can't launch the games anymore. But you can always come back later or you can always buy them individually to resume your savegame progress?

I never had a PSN account, it will be new to me.

I really want to agree.. But Rayman Legends on the 360 and One suck.. Sorry but it does. Child of Light and Ground Zeroes have been on there for two or three months now.

I'll give you Tomb Raider though.

That's correct Cyan, you can launch the games for as long as you subscribe to PSPlus. Once you have downloaded a game it's tied to your account forever.

I've now got Rayman Legends on Wii U, PS4 (mum bought it me for my birthday, or was it Chrimbo, whatever  ) and XBO.... I honestly prefer the XO version to the PS4 one! Controls are ok (surprisingly) with the XO pad and the game (like many in my opinion) seems more colourful than it does on PS4. This is a hdmi 'issue' that also could be seen between 360 & PS3: Sony's consoles can look a bit washed out compared to MS's... now personal taste goes a long way in choosing which is best, and the type of game is important too - in this case I think the brighter colours of XO Legends to PS4 is the winner.

...Matters not in this thread though  (and I think the Wii U version is the best anyway!), fact is that's a great game whatever format you play it on, and in my opinion a great freebie, even if I'm the only person in the world that prefers the XO version over the PS4...

Ubisoft didn't renew their license for publishing Scott Pilgrim, so it's gone from all systems.
luckily i got it installed and it'll stay that way till my ps3 dies. i just hope someone buys the liscense so it can get a new breath of life(and maybe a pc port)

im okay with indie games and the do get people to veer from the normal games they play but 1 retail game every once in a while would be cool

A. You can only launch PS+ games while you are an active member. If your membership expires and you resubscribe later on, you do get access back to all PS+games you used to have.
B. If the PS4 stores its saves separate from the games like the PS3 does, you should be able to just buy the game (physical or digital, shouldn't matter) once your subscription expires and still have access to your old save files. I'm not 100% sure on that since I only have experience with the PS3 and Vita though.

This is correct. And don't forget to "buy" all available ps plus games from https://store.playstation.com - just login, add them to cart and confirm order. After doing this all these games will be tied to your account and if/when you'll get vita or ps3 you'll be able to download all these games and play them. I'm currently building my future ps4 library this way :)

AFAIK, Konami's P.T. on PS4 is the only digital game (well, demo) that has been completely pulled and can no longer be re-downloaded. If you delete it or your hdd dies, you're SOL.

Another month proofing that PS4 only owners are getting ripped off by sony. The only ones benefiting are casual gamers (everybody and their moms have already played broken age/super meat boy) or people with all 3 consoles. Online players (destiny, rocket league) are forced to subscribe regardless if they want to play their game (compare that to steam). Well my subscription ran out now and I won't extend it until sony brings some actual features and not some social shit like the recent 3.0 update.
I can't turn off the PS4 by holding the PS button, I can't organize/customize the XMB as i want it to, the media player has less functionality and codec support than my 6 year old LG 350€ flat tv. Those are basic functionalities someone expects to work on release day. They didn't even have a crunchyroll (not available in europe) or twitch app (i know you could use the browser -> bad user experience) for over 1,5 years.

The only reasons for a PS4 at the moment are:
- stronger hardware than it's console competitors
- naughty dog

that's it. Sony needs to step up their game. Everyone is laughing at Nintendo for their stone-age online functionalities but I actually enjoy the WiiU's features way more than I enjoy those ridiculously bad servers (MTU 1500 anyone?), PSN and PS+ subscription shit of sony.

How can they market a console like that with "this is for the players".

I just registered to PS+ on my PS4 and bought Chariot.
I wondered why it didn't have the download option, and didn't find how to launch it. I came here and just saw on the first post that it's PS3 only... ok I'll have to be more careful with the games I buy next time. don't want to spend money on games I can't play... (at least, this one was free)
