Hacking Playing Burned Games with Softmii?

Yes. I am probably an ignorant fool.
It's all installed, and I wanted to test it out.

I just wasted like.. 4 hours dumping Sonic Unleashed to SD then putting the pieces together,
and then finally burning with imgburn on 3x speed. The wii doesn't read the disc from the menu.

Did I go horribly wrong somewhere or leave out an important step?
I'm confused.

Well, I use DVD+RW, and It's working just fine.

The only thing i've ever made work was a verbatim DVD+R

DVD+Rs work fine. I've burned AC:CF onto a DVD+R (not Verbatim either, some Samsung ones pressed in India) and it runs normally.

All you need is to get some good media. Use Taiyo Yuden; that's the absolute best brand out there. I have burned around 200 Wii ISOs without a single coaster. SuperMediaStore.com has them for around 30 cents a DVD.
