Hacking play dvd's/movies from USB hard drive

Now that we have the option of playing our backup games on a "fat" hard drive what is the possibility of beeing able to play our backup films from a hard drive through the wii?

MPlayer CE and GeeXboX can already play nearly all Fileformats. But not ISOs of DVDs. So, encode your DVDs, put the .avis/whateverfileformattheyare on the HD, and watch them with the above mentioned apps.

And gosh, do some search...

Yes, MPlayer_CE and apps like that can do it.

Before it will read from USB, you'll need to install cIOS202 first

I dont think you need to install cIOS222.

But its a good idea too because it speeds it up, alot.

What I was thinking of was a cover flow menu like we have with the backup loaders. I have noticed that this sort of thing has been mentioned before in the past but it does not seem to be happening....
