Hacking Planning to buy a chip - 4.2, help needed.

Hello.

I installed on my Wii today the Hombrew channel, everything went fine.
My wii is 4.2.

Im planning to buy a chip, but i dont know if its worth buying right now with this new update.

I want to mention that i dont care about the region free thing, i just want that my chip will play without a problems all my burned game on my specific region.

Should i wait, or i can already buy ?
I wanted to buy the WiiKey 2 but i was fool enough to update my wii, so now i dont know what to do.

I think Drivekey works fine, but I'm not sure, you can always go to 4.1 if your worried.

No, i prefer not to play with the inside of my Wii.
I better wait to see how the chips working with the new 4.2.
I will be glad to read more comments, especially from those who already have the 4.2 with chipped WII.

from what I've seen for headlines in the past since 4.2 has come out, many people are having issues with modchips and 4.2 with certain games not playing.

It's mainly the region compatibility.

Trucah signing IOS70 (on 4.2 of course) should (meaning it has worked fine with all my games) get same region games working (with my WiiKey). So I guess it will be the same thing with other mod chips.

EDIT: with other earlier modchips.

I have wii 4.2USA with drivekey chip and it works perfectly... i dont see why not buy it...u can always softmod(just throwin it out there!) but my drivekey chip works fine.

Do you ever load any pal games??? Apparently that where most of the probs are.

Well i havent necessarily tested pal games but i have jap games... and they work... i dont see why pal shudnt work

dude ill sell you an extra driekey i have for $25 if your willing to do it yourself.

another guy posted a while back and he said that he got a "modchip" installed, which turned out to be a cioscorp installation.

dont risk it man, unless they're like uber legit.

plus, installing a drivekey is the literally easy as pie.
