ROM Hack PKHex Trouble Shooting

So, to make a long story short, I am trying my hardest to make PKHex work on my Ultra Sun game. I have exported the main file via checkpoint, edited it, saved it, and imported it back into the game. However, whenever I do, the changes I made do not save. I have tried editing the Pokemon in my party, generating Pokemon in my box, and nothing has changed. Any help would be very appreciated!

You made sure to press set on pkhex so that they save?
