ROM Hack pkhex-git aur package question

Hello.

Could someone maybe explain why the aur package for pkhex (pkhex-git https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/pkhex-git) requires the mono-alpha and not plain ol' mono?

I am sorry if this is the wrong place to ask.

Read the comments from the author. It's probably safe to assume that Mono stable doesn't include newer .NET standards and can't compile the project.

If you can also see, the current mono package is on a later version than mono-alpha https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/mono-alpha/ https://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/mono/

So I can't really see why it is still the case

Then just modify the PKGBUILD to use regular Mono and see if it causes any problems.
