you cant update from 2.5 to anything. picofly toolbox update starts at 2.61

hello, I also tried to install pico fly today, but the pins on the cmd were exfoliated and now the console doesn't start. it's broken and can't be repaired, right?

You may get lucky and be able to very carefully scrape and expose the little silver point on the remainder of the pad and blob some solder between that and the remaining pad to restore function.

Then if you can tap a small 40awg wire or similar onto that blob without breaking the connection, things should work.

I tried but the other one also came off and now I have nothing to catch. my curiosity is whether the console can still be turned on and used normally as before

You need to repair that trace with a thin wire, if you’re unable to do that you will need to sent it to a professional
if he already ripped or overheated the pads so they rip of i would tell he to bring it to a professional instead of try to retrace it Xd

this is what it looks like now. and I have one last question, do you think I could have short-circuited the board because I managed to remove the cooler pipe before removing the battery🤦🏻‍♂️

Hello, i´ve been reading this forum for days.
I did my try to use the picofly mod but after all i made a mistake trying to get the 3.3V point to the pico fron the point nex to the m92t36.
Once i finished the installation of the pico, my switch didn´t turn on, so i unsoldered everything from the pico and the switch starts but i got an error 2101-0001
I think that i caused a shortcut between the pins 5 and 6 of the ic and now my switch doesn´t charge from the C port. Charged the battery manually from an external source and i finally turned on the switch getting that error. Anyone knows how to test the ic or the value of the capacitor marked in red?
Checking back the pico i noticed that third resistor (CLK) was conected to ground because of the tiny path of the button removed so i resoldered with kapton tape between.
Also add some photos of how i soldered the other pins and the rudimental installation of the mosfet without flex. Used a mosfet DMN3033LSN-7 because its just 3 pins and i got it in stock but because of the error couldn´t tell if it works fine.
Hope to find some help here.
Thanks.

Error code is blown m92 and you also need to replace the cap

@lightninjay *cough*

Possible you shorted *something, but probably not the whole system*. Either way, stick with that ripped CMD point, you KNOW that needs repair. 'Cross that bridge when you get to it', ya know?

Last edited by LogicalMadness,
You can test that by pressing Vol+ & Vol- on the NO SD screen. If you have this working, then it would work without chip as well

I confirm. I have removed Microsd card and i press Vol + Vol- on the screen "no sd card", the console starts OFW correctly.

I can remove the rp2040?

Most likely now your console will no longer boot into OFW.
If so, you will need to restore boot0/boot1 (do you make a backup?)

Try booting into OFW and update us.

i was thinking, i have a v2 that i would like to mod but i only have a v1 flex cable, can i remove the mostfet from it anduse it on the v2?

i am just curious why is there a specific point for ground like the cap near the mt? can we not use any expose copper in the motherboard like those triangle indicators? i used one near the cpu seems did not encounter any problem...ground is ground right?

Because if I didn't call out a specific point, then I would get a million questions about where an acceptable ground would be. People like to be told what to do.

If you're a rebel, and don't like being told what to do, then solder to whatever ground your heart desires. Me personally? I soldered to the USB-C port shield on my Erista.

ah make sense...
