Hacking Picking up New 3ds XL

I am picking up a New N3dsXL what do you think the chances are it will be a lower fw then 11.0 not any special edition just the plain red color one.

Haven't been on these boards in years! Not since I had a DSi years ago. I'm looking to buy a brand new New 3DS XL, from what I read so far we can install CFW on 11.0 no prob. What's your concern, OP?

There've been no reports of any brand new consoles on greater than 10.5 so you're fine. Don't go buying any returned consoles or second hand ones.

100% if brand new, maybe not if preowned or refurbished.

ok thanks for info, yeah it's brand new, was going to buy pre owned but no way of knowing if previous owner updated or not.
