Is it harmful for the switch's battery to be always plugged in? Most devices tell you to disconnect charger once it's fully charged so I'm wondering because I never take the switch off the dock.

When the switch is at 100% charge in docked mode, it basically shuts off the battery and uses the power from the power cord

Well you can check it by the fact that when you play even portable with the console fully charged the battery is always at 100% and since its a hybrid console what would be the point in not bypassing the battery and the charger powering it up...

The Switch to me seems a lot more like a laptop than an actual phone...

Anyway its also not good for Li-ion to stay always at 100%, but who cares?

If you follow what manufactures say then you will also never enjoy the battery and basically they want us to have a premature battery loss from day 2 since they claim its best to stay from 80% to around 15% battery and never use the battery at all, well if we do like they say then we will also never enjoy the full battery capacity, so yeah whatever... I either charge when the console reports low battery warning or let it fully discharge sometimes (though this is also not recommended to keep doing much, but its good for battery calibration purpose like doing once per month or so)...

My launch Switch has been almost perpetually docked since it came out and it's fine. I haven't done any battery benchmarks on that unit but to my unscientific eye it's fine when I do (rarely) play in handheld.
