Hacking pc, wbfs, usb

hi,

been a long time user of usb ext drive, but i now have a htpc sitting right next to me wii...

i know what i'd like to do, but i dont know if it can be done....

i would like to set aside a portion of my htpc hd and create a virtual mass storage device and have a usb cable connect directly between wii and htpc.

so as i see it, i'd need some program to create a virtual mass storage device (from a fixed/dynamic image) which is mounted...

format is as wbfs and have the wii (or any other client) think its a external hard drive.

any ideas?

Most PC's can only be USB masters, not slaves.
You're unlikely to achieve what you want.

from the software side thats easy
the problem is getting a usb client controller to attach to your pc
all I have found so far are either sold in bulk quantities (1000+ pcs) or extremely expensive (1000+ $)
to tell if you find a good one

but I wonder why nobody has done a network loader for usb network adapters

For the usb ethernet adapter? It only runs at USB1 speed, that's why.
