JPCSP is probably the best one out there but like all java programs, its not really wise on managing resources, is it?

Well, technically anything written in a higher level language isn't great at managing resources, and are less efficient.
Programs written in higher level languages also take a longer time to run to completion as well as convert from source
to binary on a one to many basis. Ultimately, our reasoning for HLL's and VHLL's is convenience, lol.

JPCSP is indeed the best one out at the moment, but as Rydian said, it's still not able to run many commercial games yet
at playable speeds. Used PSP prices should come down to within the $50-75 dollar range when the 3DS/PSP2 arrive, which
isn't bad at all considering how capable the system is.
