Hacking Patching roms for online

Folks,

Sometimes ones comes accross a release with a nfo that states that the rom should be patched for online with an included code (a few digits).

What does it 'really' mean ? How do you patch the rom (what tool/app to use) and what are the consequences of many/all people having used the very same string of digits ?

Use gateway rom patcher 1.1 inject a private header and rename the extension to .3dz thats it

So can I 'dump' a private header from any of our original games and use it everywhere like this, so that I can be sure noone else uses the same header ?

Rip a header from a 3ds game you own , this makes the header ripped from it "private". Don't sell or share the game you ripped the header.bin file from, you can use gateways launcher and dump a 3ds game from the menu.

And yes you can inject that header.bin file into all of your 3ds roms to make them online compatible
