Hacking patching, disk speed or some other issue with burned disks

I have burned super mario galaxy and sonic unleashed to run in backup luncher. Mario works to start but in the first cut scene it was soo laggy until it completely froze and the game said to check the manual for help. And sonic did not start at all. So do i need to change disk speed mario is at 4x and the wii is at 3x or 6x i can't remember and i think i need to patch sonic.
