ROM Hack (PATCH) Use other languages in Super Scribblenauts

EDIT: Just wait for the EUR release, these are badly broken.


NOTE: untested, and glitchy

Can't wait for the EUR release and want to create in your language right now? Then this is for you!

These patches change the noun/adjective dictionary you use. Sorry, all the other text(menus and crap) will be the original language.


For example, apply patch 'ssn_hack1.delta' and then select French in the options, you will be able to use Italian nouns and adjectives.

Hack 1:
French becomes Italian
Spanish becomes Norwegian
Portugese becomes German


Hack 2:
French becomes Swedish
Spanish becomes Finnish
Portugese becomes Dutch


Hack 3:
French becomes Danish



For anyone who doesn't know what to do, download xdelta. Use the command:

xdelta -dfs ssnrom patch output

Awesome idea if it worked. Patch 2 doesn't turn portugues in dutch, but in german!
Also, when I spawn the 'german' word 'fabrik' (it means factory) it spawns a factory very neatly, but when I use the loop to identify the object it says 'uenter helikoptery' which is complete nonsense. Also when i try to spawn a 'geist' it just crashes.

Too bad but good try.

Well, I didn't test them at all(well, I tested a few words of the Italian, then assumed everything would be fine). It's a shame they're glitchy. Maybe you will just have to wait until the EUR release then.

No, the patch I made just tells it to use data that's already in the ROM. There's no Japanese in there.

Whoa, you know how we are always requesting patches to have Japanese games translated to English? Never thought there would be a request for English to Japanese.
