If I'm not mistaken, the R4 could be used as a Passme for SC: L, correct? But when I boot up the SC:L without the R4 inserted, it still boots. My question is, does it need a Passme? For me, Zelda Minish Cap, Megaman Zero 4 and Super Mario Advance 4 all refuse to save, saying the save is corrupted. How can I fix this?

Yes, If you want to execute *.nds files. You'll need the passme device to load up nds files. The regular mode without the passme can launch only gba code.

First, did you patch your games with the patchers.
Second, did you put the save file with the game on the microSD.
Third, you may have to do "realtime" save method.

realtime save: " L + R + SELECT + B" all at once at the same time.

Other, than that you may have to download GBATA 0.7, and sram patch it.

http://www.gbadat.altervista.org/tools.htm

download the tool.

Than look for the sram patch tab on the program, and patch it.

Yes, booting up your sc lite w/o a passcard will make it boot in gba mode (unless you have flashme).

The save files have to be in the same directory (folder) as the rom.

I was never sure about this, but does gba games save properly in a sc lite? I thought you had to press a button combination to save after saving-in-game.

Normal save on Supercard for gba is L+R+Select+A (save in game first )

At first the button combo is tricky but you get use to it, this will bring a save screen up, press 'a' to save........ also make sure 'enable restart' is on in the options tab
