Hi everyone, I just want to share my bad experience
Yesterday I followed this exellent guide but ended up hard bricking my nand.
I thing the part with the python script windows.py didn't worked as it was supposed to and ended up flashing insted of my bricked emunand instead of the unbricked one. (even though the file sysnand.bin did created, but the process didn't seem normal, didn't see any command line or progess, the script just close as fast as it start.
Anyway it's not as bad as it seem, I will try to restore my nand with a hardmod.(Maybe it's better this way for the future.)
Do you thing that this bad process lock my nand so I will also need a raspberry pi to restore my nand?

I ask again is it possible to downgrade my n3ds with safesys updater to 2.1, because this nand replacement in this guide IS NOT working

Correct me if I'm wrong (and I probably am), if you're booting into an emunand > 9.2 with a9lh you wouldn't be able to write back to NAND correct?

You would have to be firm launching a 9.0-9.2 firm correct?

I guess shorter question is, how would you come down from A9LH?

Not really. Your unbricked emunand would be w/e emunand you started with.

Welp, I bricked. Since the guide said the python script for Mac is broken I booted into Windows, redownloaded the pack and ran the Windows.py. Turns out you need the XORPads in the folder and the guide was clarified as soon as the damage has already been done. Oh well, live and learn.

You could, though the fact is you're working with gigabyte sized files, if the window flashes by quickly, something's wrong.

In fact, you can manually do it yourself. Run the commands in a command line, do the hex edit, and compare the results.

Yes, but the user should follow the guide, so it shouldn't happen.

I Checked that the xorpads i had were named wrong, ver2 guide checks 0x4 and regular nand.fat16.xorpad and not 0x5 version which you rename before like in guide 1,somehow it still made the sysnand.bin [unbricked] version so thats how i got bricked why doesnt the windows.py check if theres a xorpad missing?

Might be possible but im not sure,the cfw is running under the system and your trying to use a old 3ds fw so things might go wrong

Time, and nothing really interesting. I guess that if you want to check your emuNAND downgrade, you shouldn't try to dump your OTP now.
