ordering my 32gb ipod touch today:D

so i have all the money i need and am ordering it todayi went to camp over the last week and meet a fellow hacker which convinced me to jailbreak my ipod touch when i get iti am pretty sure it will come with firmware 3.1.3.so is spirit the best one to jailbreak with?and is there a 4.0 full jailbreak yet for the model i am getting the 32gb 3rd gen?

Don't upgrade to 4.0, you can't Jailbreak 4.0 on 3rd gen iPod touch at all yet. If you absolutely must be on the bleeding edge, I think redsn0w supports it, but it's far more complicated than Spirit. If you're fine with 3.1.3 for now, use Spirit to jailbreak.

ok i will prob just jailbreak it with spirit,but the guy who i was talking to said sn0wbreeze was a really great jailbreak and somewhere i saw that its works on the 3rd gen on 4.0..anyone use it?

sn0wbreeze will not work, because you need 3.1.2. And you can't restore to 3.x, since Apple no longer hands out the SHSH signatures for 3.x (required for the restore process) and they weren't backed up.

Keep in mind that Spirit doesn't work with iTunes 9.2.x. Here are the links to 9.1.1, if you need them.

(Be sure to completely uninstall every part of iTunes, like Apple Mobile Device Support, to downgrade iTunes!)

i have itunes 9.1.1.12 so spirit will work with it as long as i have 3.1.3 right?

There is an updated version of Spirit that works with iTunes 9.2, and yes, Spirit works with all devices on all firmwares up to 3.2

No, but it wouldn't hurt if you did (that is if you have the new Spirit version)
But if you get an iPhone 4, you will have no choice but to update iTunes.

Well, you'll need to update to iTunes 9.2(.1) if you want to, or you're forced to, use iOS 4.0... which, again, isn't recommended just yet.

i have a question,when you are about to jailbreak it you are not suposed to have it conected to itunes right? and i already bought my ipod its headed to me now.

when you open itunes and your ipod is connected turn off the option to start itunes when the ipod is connected and from then on itunes won't open up automatically, you have to connect your ipod first to select the option though.

when you have done that re connect your ipod, make sure itunes is closed and then do the jailbreak, if you are running windows 7 right click the exe file and put the compatibility into windows 98 or it won't run.

and be warned, do not update to ios 4! stay on 3.1.3

no, not the auto sync, go to your ipod in itunes, see the square boxes at the bottom, the section where it shows you how much data you have on your ipod, the option is there, you can only see it when you connect your ipod to itunes.
