I'm getting into modding several games lately so I'm going after Alpha Saphhire now. How does one edit the title screen? I checked out PK3ds but it's not clear how to replace the image.

How is it not clear? After loading the game on pk3ds and clicking the Title Screen option, Just right click on the title image you want to replace, with the modified png having the same specified resolution.
I figured it out a little bit before your reply lol. PK3ds wasn't loading images properly so I was left fumbling around.

there is a plugin that display them on the wii u menu, pretty sure it is enabled by default -

I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar

Or when your player dies, you can say in code, if enemy exists, do nothing, but if enemy does not exist, then create enemy at certain spot. (This would be a pain tho for lots of emeies)+1

Easiest, simple way would be just restart scene, but player would restart from beginning.
