Just want to clarify something I notice some discoloration when playing my Vita in the dark during the dark loading screen. I see a bunch of black blobs. I take it that is normal.

In my opinion, comparing the Vita's OLED with my Nexus 7's IPS LCD screen, the Nexus 7 has all the good performance characteristics of the OLED in terms of visual quality minus all the detriments of OLED (lifespan, blotches, expense, power, etc).

I'm glad OLED isn't revered here like some religion as it is on neogaf lol.

That is what is usually referred to as Mura (a Japanese word meaning "unevenness; irregularity; lack of uniformity; nonuniformity; inequality"). Not all the cells get the same amount of voltage resulting in brightness differences. I bought my Vita used from Gamestop, and the big splotches bothered me enough to return it for another one that looked much better.

Shame good thing I got the 2 year extended warranty(that covers accidents as well). Soo if anything does happen to it I am covered.

For TV's, OLED wins hands down, too bad the mobile development is not yet that far.

After seeing the LCD screen in person, I actually prefer it more than the OLED screen.

I like the upper one more, is that the LCD or OLED one?

And I like the bottom (LCD). I guess it depends on taste.

OLED is better. Burn-ins are about as big of problem as disc deterioration.
