Hi all:
After a long time of nobody playing with my wii my kids (now old enough) want to play.
I softmoded the wii some time ago and it still kinda works. The problem I am having is that some games like Fifa 15, The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword and Zelda twilight princess give me a black screen when I try to load them using either Configurable USB loader or USB loader GX.
I'll tell you my settings so that you can help me.

-My wii is version 4.1U

-I have the homebrew channel installed v1.1.0 IOS58 v24.32

- I just installed d2x-v8-final using d2x cIOS Installer v2.2 launched within the homebrew channel. I installed the recommended configuration: 249 base 56, 250 base 57 (everything installed ok)

- The games are .wbfs in a usb fat32 partition (older games play fine like mario galaxy)

- Configurable USB loader is version v70
under setting Basic: IOS250 (r21006)
Base IOS57 d2x v6 mload v1.0
and under settings/IOS:
IOS222 Base: 38 v4 modmii (r4)
IOS223 Base: 38+37 v4 modmii (r4)
IOS224 Base: 37 v5.1 (r65535)
IOS245 Base: not installed
IOS246 Base: not installed
IOS247 Base: ?? (r65535)
IOS248 Base: ?? (r65535)
IOS249 Base: 56 d2x v6 (r21006)
IOS250 Base: 57 d2x v6 (r21006)

- USB loader GX is version v3.0 rev1256

I really have no idea why the games do not load ( i tell them to use IOS 249)

Could you guys please help on what to do?

Thanks for your help

Hi all: just a quick update.
I used MODmii and after running a syscheck on my wii, modmii told me to install the following using Multi-Mod Manager, which I did:
  • IOS11v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP])
  • IOS20v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP])
  • IOS30v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP])
  • IOS40v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP])
  • IOS50v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP])
  • IOS52v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP])
  • IOS60v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP])
  • IOS70v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP])
  • IOS80v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP-DIP])
  • cIOS249[56]-d2x-v7-final (didn't install this one as I believe I already hace v8 final installed)
  • cIOS250[57]-d2x-v7-final (didn't install this one as I believe I already hace v8 final installed)
  • RVL-mios-v10
  • IOS36-64-v3608
  • IOS41-64-v3607
  • IOS43-64-v3607
  • IOS45-64-v3607
  • IOS46-64-v3607
  • IOS48-64-v4124
Anyway, I didn't help me. Fifa and Zelda still don't load.

I like ppl who knows how to ask and report their system setup properly - saves everyone from guess work.

you said you installed d2x v8 but the list still shows v6?
anyway use syscheck HDE to verify your cios are indeed v8.
try updating your cios 249/250 to d2x v10 with the same bases (249/56 and 250/57 or maybe add 251/58) if it is not already v8

use WiiBackupManager to verify the sha1 of your isos that they are not corrupted.
Skyward Sword will require a Wiimote with motion+ and set Block IOS Reload to on (auto should also work).
Also try loading the games with cios 250 if 249 won't work, some games like COD will need that.

Hi tswntk.
Thanks for your reply and help.
I did reinstall the cios 249/250 to v8. Still no luck when loading the games (still get the black screen). Tried cios 249 and 250.
The games are PAL region and my console is NTSC but i'm selecting force ntsc on the loader settings...
I'm checking the games with WiiBackupmanger but it will take some time, so far I've checked Zelda t.Princess and it was ok. The others will take some time.
Any way here is my syscheck HDE
Thanks for you help

I have Twilight Princess NTSC and it works like a charm with default settings

PAL games tends to have video problems when running on NTSC console.
Try to get the NTSC versions or play with video setting. like using disc default, force Pal etc (if your TV supports that).
Try setting Game Language, Patch Country Strings and/or VIDTV patch if all else fails.

I do have Skyward Sword Pal, I haven't played it fully but at least it works but is not compatible with EmuNand saves.

Check your isos for fragmentation too, if they are too fragmented (I think the limit is 20 fragments), they wont work, use Defraggler or the like to defrag the files.
Make sure the iso are not read only, I heard they cause problems.

Good luck.

edit: not sure if Twilight Princess were compatible with Emunand save, I finished it long before I use Emunand save.

WoW never heard of ModMii, and I have been into modding my Wii since 2008? I am very happy to see a application that will do a scan or get everything for my Wii. As of recent I went back to my Wii to play some of my old school games. When I got back to my homebrew channel I noticed that my NES emulator was giving me some problems. I love troubleshooting my Wii and making sure I have all the necessary updated files I need to continue playing my wii with the hombrew channel.

Modmii really makes everything really easy. Awesome software, kuddos to the developer. I was so easy to update my softmode using it...

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Just a quick update.
I am finally able to play the games.
I did 2 things. First I changed the USB drive that I was using. It was a USB 3.0 flashdrive and it seems the Wii didn't like it.
I also redownloaded the games now in NTSC format. Everything working fine. Thanks all for your help. Happy gaming.

I must say that this mod help out was/is outstanding and it worked out just fine for me.

I do have a lil quirk now. I have downloaded the SNES emulator and I have a 8GB memory card. For some reason there is a some serious lagging while playing. It wasn't there until I downloaded all the SNES roms onto the card. Any help for this problem would be greatly appreciated guys?
