Hacking Old Jailbroken PS3 on 3.55 need to update.

I jailbroke my PS3 a long time ago, just recently got it out to mess with. It's still on the original 3.55 jailbroken firmware, I have no idea what version it is. My question is how should I go about upgrading it to the latest jailbroken version? Should I go back stock, and if so how. I haven't messed with this thing in a long time.

You can just update to the latest rebug firmware 4.82. put it on usb and install it.

Will it erase anything? Is there any reason to update? other then not being able to play some games? Also can I got back to 3.55 without a hardware method?

Yeah you can downgrade again with Habib's QA enabler, but honestly 4.82 rebug is the bomb, I wouldn't downgrade again.

Awesome thanks for the help, I'm downloading REBUG 4.82.2 REX at this time I don't care about debugging, just a few games and newer homebrew emulators.

Before - You can do a button combo to see if its on or off.

So I did the combo on network settings, and it gave me Edy Viewer, Debug Settings and Install Package Files, so I'm guessing it's on then, and I'm good to update?
