    Resurrection Of The PS2
    (Hopefully ^_^')
    Looking for Guidance and Info on Hopefully turning my old ps2 into an Archive of my PS2 Games Ive collected over the years.

    My Ps2 Fat (SCPH-39001) has been in the closet for some time, sitting among the collection of games. Id like to update my FreeMcBoot and get it going for the moment as i can do that :P. Id also like to explore what my options are if i were to combine it with my Modbo 4.0 I acquired some time ago and attempted to put into a Slim (would prefer not to have to install myself unless its much easier in a fat((i killed the slim basically)))
    Warning: Spoilers inside!

    I do have (actually a few) Harddrive bay network adapters and what are my options there on compatibility?

    Fitting the chip will get you direct boot of ps2 backups (without patching), ps1 backups and imports. Not much else. If you already killed a slim trying to fit it, then I wouldn't bother trying to fit the a phat, you'll more than likely kill that as well.

    That modbo looks damaged as well, looks like there is a chunk of pcb missing under the resistor and possibly some track damage next to it as well.

    If you have network adapters and you want to turn the ps2 into a archive of games, just use them. Throw a hdd in, fill with games, and use opl to play them.

    The Chip is actually in decent shape...(If I remember right I dont think I ever got It turned on) As per the Modbo Board it was dirt from when i taped it down while working. I agree totally (Id really prefer a free mod install service)

    The Slim is saveable its just ordering a cable and a getting a bit creative...(Im just lazy as my PS2 Fat Works lol :D )

    OPL?

    OPL= Open ps2 loader. http://opl.sksapps.com/

    Lets you play from HDD, USB (slow) or over the network (mixed bag, some games fine, others not). 0.8 is latest official stable release, but there are later versions, but you'll have to look around for a compiled one.
