Homebrew OG 3DS Help?

I have the OG 3ds, the oldy 3ds that was first released on 11.8 firmware.

Is there a guide to homebrew this baby and to get some CFW on it? I can't find anything on here

Also another heads up. I want to figure out how to get some downloadable 3ds titles on my device too just to have the ease of being able to load up my games without actually trying to find the cartridges in my house. Is there a way to do that?

Do i need homebrew bfore i do this? Also I can't use my SD card on my PC, it keeps saying it needs to be reformatted, but I already have a lot of 3ds data on there. ((

EDIT: Nevermind I fixed my SD card. Is it OK if I install homebrew first via the sub wars method before I start the Frogminer guide?

EDIT: sounds like your SD card or the reader on your PC is messed up. make sure you have a known good SD before starting to reduce brick risk. You should never have to reformat to view data on a 3ds' SD card.

EDIT2: Follow the guide exactly, don't skip anything or do anything it doesn't tell you to do.

I'm using the SD card that came with my 3DS out of original packaging. Also sorry to ask again but can I get HBC first via the Sub Wars method before I start trying to get the CFW (Frogminer)? Also is there any other CFW options other than Frogminer that I could check out

regardless of how you cfw your 3ds you will need to add files to the sd card via pc (optionally you could use an android if you have a microsd card) so you should attempt to use a 3rd party data management program like teracoppy to clone the sd to your pc then format it then restore the contents

I got the HBC after finishing the Steelminer guide, but when I was doing part 1 of the Frogminer guide, I put all the files in my SD Card where they were supposed to go, and I booted up Sub Wars to get to the HBC, and I'm stuck on a Solid Green Screen on the bottom half of the 3ds, and a black screen on the top. What do I do>?


UPDATE: I just held down the power button, and rebooted Sub Wars, I'm in the HBC. I guess it just crashed on start up.

Hey Guys, 1 more thing. What recommended size SD card should I have? I currently am using a 2 GB file. Is this enough to store at least a few games and other apps?

No most decent 3ds games are between 2 to 4 gb in size each. At minimum i would recommend 32gb if not bigger.

That's right, it's not supposed to work after you've installed Luma. Just do the finalization set up.

. . . it wont work through that entrypoint anymore but this is normal . . . just continue with the guide . . .

I have successfully managed to install CFW by following the Frogminer tutorial. I have a couple of question
1) Can I remove the Steel Diver game? Which files can I delete on the SD card?
2) 64GB SD cards are supported? When I start using higher capacity cards, do I have to copy/paste all files from my current SD to new?
