I will just add to this thread to give my side of this dock screen scratching business and I have said this before mine has been in & out the dock countless times, maybe of the top of my head 30 - 40 times, tbh I have lost count to be accurate and I agree with Nintendo mine has not got one scratch so far or even a small smudge on the screen and its still in perfect condition without a screen protector! I have bought one, just to be certain of this issue but I haven't stuck it on yet just to see if it does scratch.

Isn't that like buying a condom but not using it until after the girl gets pregnant?

That's true, good thinking! I might of suffered with that issue myself in the past but I'm not sure Nintendo can help me with that problem now :P

You never know, have you tried calling customer service? Please record that conversation if you do!

So has anyone had any luck with Nintendo replacing their dock?

Has anyone even contacted Nintendo about the dock?

I will give it ago your right! I will ring customer services asap and see what they have to say about it also I will ask to put onto Reggie Fils-Aime cause he seems the man in the know, he might have the answer! he might even say your best bet is to have a retro-abortion then these sorts of problems will never happen! :)

My Switch screen has a very small scuff mark on it but it's barely noticeable and since I applied the screen protector to it, the Dock won't be a problem anymore to worry about. But even then, the Dock is a really shitty piece of a plastic. :(

90 USD piece of plastic too. Though thanks to that you can pretend that the switch's value solely has a handheld (meaning not counting the Joy Con grip and the dock) as around 200 USD, similar to a 3DS. Too bad there's no possible way the dock is worth that much.

Just got off the phone with Nintendo tech rep 1-800-255-3700

I was on hold for roughly 30 seconds, extremely helpful and friendly.

They have emailed me an expedited shipping label to return my dock for replacement, 1 week turn around time.

I have to say, the entire experience was 10/10.

At least I will have a proper dock and not a bent one. Now I can sleep at night. Been using tape on the rails so my Switch console is SPOTLESS! Want to keep it that way.

If you have a bent dock I suggest you return it for warranty, the tech said it should be perfect 90 degree angles, no bends or bows.

The tech said that if your dock is defective don't just "deal with it", call them and send it in. The only way they can track down the problem is by receiving the docks/serial numbers that are defective. It is an inconvenience to be without the dock for a week I know but it will be worth the peace of mind.

My dock, despite all my complaints and rants, is straight. Did yours come out of the box bent? Or did it bend over time? Bent is probably too strong of a word. Let's try curved.

Out of the box. One from Amazon and one from Bestbuy (My amazon one got lost in the mail for 3 or 4 days), and my friend bought one from EBGames and it was also curved inward and bowed in.

3 strikes so far. Which is why I would rather get a replacement from Nintendo themselves instead of returning and gambling on getting another defective unit. Other than the dock, I am having no other issues so I don't want to return the console, just the dock lol and Nintendo was happy to oblige.

That's some terrible luck. Or possibly all those docks you came across were packaged in the same area and something happened during that time. It does kinda feel like it'd melt (or at least get misshapen) easily under heat though.

Well it was the first shipment for launch day, and the warehouses for the 3 respective stores are all in the same vicinity so they probably all received parts from the same damaged/defective shipment. That's my theory.

Yeah sounds like that was your problem as mine is straight and quite a few others are too maybe just a bad batch

My pictures aren't the best as it's hard to get the angle with light however you can see both sides the rails aren't touching the screen
