ReiNX still works on the latest firmware. Just because its not updated as much doesn't mean its dead. If it ain't broke, don't fix.

Curious if it has the "exiting Mario 64" bug or not?

I've tried to update my Switch tonight. Downloaded the latest OFW 10.2.0. Followed the steps on the webpage. But when i try to inject payload Tegra freezes. Tried several times

EDIT: Using Tegra 2.6

"If it ain't broke don't fix it" doesn't sound so good when you proudly don't know or care if it's broke or not. "Use atmosphere" is still sounding pretty wise tbh.

Don't know about that especially since half the threads being made are about people complaining that their games don't work which wouldn't be an issue if they used ReiNX.

in all fairness if they knew how to read they wouldn't have these issues either ha.
it's 99% sigpatches. 1% Mario 64 issue.

Then in that same vein, Mario 64 is but one game out of the hundreds that the Switch has. Not only is it just an emulated port, but there exists better ways to play Mario 64 even on the Switch itself. So using Atmosphere just for one 20 year old game is not really that great.

i think you missed the point of my post, just saying nearly everyone who has issues it's sigpatches....until the other day that is when a new issue came up, but i could have left that part out it wasnt important.

Then you either are agreeing with me that all patches issue would dissolve with ReiNX or that both the patches and the 64 issues are of equal non-importance therefore not giving much reason to use Atmosphere over ReiNX in that regard since patches issues will continue for as long as Atmosphere doesn't bundle them.

I'm not calling you out in particular but when the other users in this thread start saying to use Atmosphere instead of addressing the actual issue, it comes off the wrong way. Nobody liked it when people said to use Atmosphere in the SX OS threads so the same logic applies here. Maybe the Atmosphere fans were really the toxic ones after all.

My original point was that this thread hasn't been maintained as an information point for ReiNX updates and info, so ReiNX doesn't have much of a presence on gbatemp any more (telling people to go to a discord doesn't count).

Is that so? I updated to 10.2 a few days ago, but I can't get ReiNX to boot anymore, it gives me an error on the splash screen.

Had the same problem. Had to start using atmosphere instead.

yeah i completly boned by switch updating to 10.2 while on reinx 3.0 would not boot anymore then tried switching to atmosphere but keep either getting fusee-secondary.bin errors or FatFS Error 13 using Hekate so i stuffed something up along the way, no matter what sig patches or boot ini edits i make

tried formatting SD multiple ways using windows and mac but still cant even get it to boot past any payload not even SXOS so thinking my SD card is just failing as it seems to work fine just transfering files to and from it.

at this point i'm either waiting for a fix for reinx or buying a new SD card i guess.

The lack of updates, be it actual version increases or simple roadmaps/dev blogs, do give the feeling that it's dead.

When I started on NS hacking, I used ReiNX. Dropped it after 2.0 because it was way too slow in updating, and offered almost no advantage over Atmosphere, even more so after emuMMC, even if it does feel easier to set up overall (no need for patching stuff, since ReiNX isn't hypocritically bigoted against piracy like Atmosphere).

Too bad, because I liked it

Sounds like it bricked. Did you try restoring a nand backup?

I always have airplane mode on, but accidentially pressed updating when I just wanted to start a game and now I am on 10.2.0 ReinNX 3.0). Now booting results in "error: KIP hash not found in list". Reading here seems I am not the only one with this problem. If I get it right it hasn't been solved yet.

But by pressing "volume up" after the error message some more lines of text appear and it concludes with "launch hos". By pressing "volume up" again the switch boots up and everything seems normal. Only problem is some few games won't launch anymore telling me an error occured. Installing stuff is no problem btw.

I am not sure what all this is though....

Patches need to be updated for ReiNX.

Had the same problem. Had to start using atmosphere instead.

any good guides on how to switch to that, once you already are on using reinx? can you still use all the games/saves that were installed and used on reinx?

my nephew did exactly what I told him NOT to do, connnected to the internet. now the switch is on 10.2.0 with "KIP hash not found".

-nevermind, this guide was simple and all working fine now
