I understood that corruption mainly occur with running homebrews... (better exit with + not home button)...and not the CFW itself ?
thats right - homebrew and exFAT are flat out not compatible unfortunately

what i personally do is have one SD card as exFAT for switch games and another as FAT32 for homebrew

That’s what Î’m going to do for now and then...:creep:

Homebrew menu is not included in the official GitHub releases of ReiNX because they are not a part of ReiNX; these must be downloaded from the guide. You probably removed your titles folder when you updated to V1.7 (V1.6 didn't have the titles folder either).
Darth Meteo's Super Special SD Stash has it.

Wait we can't use the same exfat memory card for both nsps and homebrew?? Wth. I just bought a 200gb memory card lol.

The issue seems to have only risen on firmware 6.0. ExFAT is completely fine on 5.1.0.

I did not even formatted my 128Gb micro-SDXC with the Switch in order to use it. I actually had it pre-formatted with an Android device. It worked just fine as I plugged it into the Switch. And the device was already in firmware 5.1.0 as it all happened.

A question, though: Has anyone here also experienced their Switch not charging when completely off but charges just fine when booted to a CFW, like ReiNX i.e. charging while the system is active? Care to explain why this is the case?

If it is any relevant, I have auto-RCM enabled with my device in order to circumvent the need for an RCM jig when booting to RCM Mode.

Wait what's the exact problem with exFat on 6.0?
What happens?

The issue was already there on 5.1.0, but not for everybody ...

this is patently false

exFAT is *not* fine on any firmware whatsoever, nor does it work on a particular build of ReiNX or any CFW for that matter - the issues like with the drivers Nintendo has used.

exFAT corruption is completely random and varies on a user to user basis

Are you sure your switch is truly powered off ? You can check by sending a payload... No issue of charging with AutoRCM for me when the switch is truly powered off.

I fixed it by putting my titles folder back. Fortunately I backed up my entire sd card so I had it. Thank you so much.

Hi, Having opening the homebrew menu through "Albums", it just opens up my albums instead.

I tried holding "R" while opening it, but it doesnt help.

I downloaded the latest 1.7 release from github.

My sd card folder looks like the image I posted below.

Also, when I go to "System" it says, Current system version. 6.0.0 ReiNX.

Any ideas?

Yeah I downloaded hbmenu.nro and placed on root of sdcard as you can see on my screenshoot, isnt this correct?

Whoops, the post I quoted didn't explain the part about the folder that ends in 100D that should be in titles inside the ReiNX folder. These must be downloaded from the official guide since they are not a part of ReiNX.

you can, but you risk corruption.
and to be honest, once they get psp and psx to run good on switch, you'd need more than the 200 gb anyways.
so a dedicated emulation/homebrew card is really not such a bad idea.

with the corruption issue around, they really should take out the toolkit for now, i don't even want to imagine how many people kill their sd cards cause they just arent aware there is an issue (not everyone lurks on these forums)=

Thanks a lot, feel stupid now for not following that guide. That happens when one follows a random youtube guide instead...

install hbmenu.nsp much better

Care to explain why ?

in rcm mode, the switch charges at i think 1/6th of its normal charging speed, while also using up energy for even slower charge.
note that a system with autorcm activated will restart (and then enter rcm mode) a few seconds after its shut down, it will also restart (and thus enter rcm again) when you put it into a charger after powering it off completely.

to turn it off entirely, connect charger, hold power button for 6 seconds, select shut down, wait about 10 seconds, then hold power button for another 12-15 seconds.
and then it should be turned off and charging.

but its really much easier to just put it in sleepmode.
