Just a tip , tape wires to the battery and have them connected to the cart while replacing , then take them off when done I don't think you'll ever lose the save if it hasn't died already

While this may work sometimes, it can actually send too many volts to the Save Rom and damage it. So I would not offer that service because it's risky and because I cannot guaranty it'll work every time.

It shouldn't , that hooks it up in parallel , same voltage higher mah(lasting time)

Yeh I know it shouldn't but old carts are fragile and I wouldn't want to risk anything when dealing with other peoples carts.
I will however try this with the next few of my own carts to test, thanks for the suggestion. P.s I was just reading your GCP thread today Good Work.
