People say Morrowind is better but I have Morrowind for the Xbox and thought it was meh. Maybe mods will make it 1000000000000x better though. I have Oblivion for PC but im not sure if it's the GOTY version or the normal version (it was the BioShock bundle). I thought it was a bit better than Morrowind.

What should I buy? They're both on Steam and on sale.

Get both and then get Morroblivion

it's Morrowind and Oblivion all in one, and Morrowind is updated to Oblivion standards graphically and gameplay wise. I enjoyed Morrowind alot more with Oblivions graphics.

Just buy both, you cant go wrong with this series.
and its so dirt cheap right now on steam.

I thought Morrowind was a much better game. Oblivion seemed dumbed-down in comparison. Perhaps that's because it was designed with consoles in mind whereas Morrowind was a PC game through and through.

Good God I hate to ask such a newb question, but, I have never used steam before. Do I have to be connected to the internet each time I launch the game? Or just to download from them then can play offline. These are too good a deal to pass up.

Only to download them

Once you've downloaded the game, you can go into offline mode

thanks for the tip. I'm gonna look into it...
but sadly the official website doesnt have much information at all...

Ive read about it.

Apparently you can walk around everywhere, and all the NPCs are there, but theres no quests. So its more of a nostalgia thing instead of a complete replacement for playing morrowind.

Yup true. No interaction so not really handy.

@ Feels Good Man: I used the the links I posted and it worked out very well, I really love the way Oblivion plays and feels right now.

You can always just make a mix between the two guides.

Id just get both. Ive lost many hours to morrowind but then again i spent a 10 hours straight on oblivion...
