Hi, im new into fixing things, and for a new hobby im trying to learn how to fix things.

Well, like the title says, my 3ds got into an electric overload while still connected to power like 4 years ago, but even after that, it worked without any problems while the battery charge lasted. Charger broke, and adapter melt. I bought a charger last week after inspecting the 3ds motherboard, but it won't show the orange light for when it's connected to power, same thing with the battery inserted.

Doing some research, i removed the F1 fuse, and bridged it at least for now before i buy the fuse, but it seems theres also a problem with the EM1 coil. When using the multimeter, it beeps from one side, but not from the other (when using the multimeter with the black pin in far left and red in far right. When using the black pin in the COM slot, it does beep when testing both sides of the coil).

I saw a video of some guy on YT trying it on a 3ds xl with a coil problem, same multimeter config as me and he got it beeping in both sides.

I haven't connected anything else tho, so idk if it is needed at least somethin else connected to the motherboard for the orange light to glow again.

If someone has an idea of what it might be, i'll be reading them to try and fix my 3ds 😔.

Thanks in advance

Hi, I had already the approximative same problem and i didn't success to revive her with all solutions I found...

I hope you will find but I don’t believe it too personally.

Have a great day

Did you check F1 for continuity? If it failed it might have protected the 3ds, if it beeps the fuse is ok, just put it back on the board. If the coil reads low resistance from one to the other side (beeps) of it should be ok. Best thing for you to do is getting a working one and compare readings.
