Gaming NXE menu lag and crashes

No problems on my 360, NXE works great on my RROD machine that I fixed myself 8 months ago!

anyone else getting like a 5 sec lag when doing things with the guide button?
so far its crashed 5 times while browsing friends and 1 time when installing a game since the instal

I want the old dash back
it may not have been that pretty but it worked fast and didnt take forever to find something

I'm aware of the "crashing" on the dashboard, its not a crash, honest. Its the dashboard struggling to download the updated friends/avatar info, it locks the whole console out for some reason, leave it and it will fix itself. Kinda stupid though, I would have thought microsoft would have spotted that one or at least added a message to say whats going on.


As for RROD, maybe it wasnt the "dreaded" RROD we all fear. What do I mean? maybe it was just the video cable wasn't making connection properly or power issue or something else, remember red lights are used for practically every error under the sun, not all bad.

On the day NXE went live, it froze on me for like half dozen minutes on friends menu (not the one in guide button, but the new one on dashboard). I let it sit like that and somehow came back to normal.

I never used friends menu from the dashboard ever since.
