You just need to get a Flashcard flash with the special NTR files.
Then Nintendo can't do jack if they so release 12.X that fixes all known exploits.

Is it the old 2DS? If so, you don't need no magnet at all.

As long it isn't the flip model, yes. No magnet needed. Follow the guide and you will be fine.
