Hacking ntr cfw and luma 9.1

I tried this after finding out that ntr cfw didn't work with the latest luma. I chain loaded 9.1, then tried ntr cfw. the problem is that it crashes a lot, just like it did on the latest luma. my b9s is up to date btw. I named that payload something like lumav.9.1.firm. however, I can't get it to work properly? could a . in the file name (not extension) cause any sort of problem? should I have left it as boot.firm? I have a few things on my sd card that might be causing a problem too like ntr debug.

I also added game patching in luma's settings for twilight menu++. could that be causing a problem? should I enable the option for using external modules? what happens to luma config if you use an earlier luma version through chain loading? is it still using the same configuration as the boot.firm that's on the root of your sd card?

A solution would be:
- A 3DS homebrew app that switches boot.firm on the root of the SD

How:
For example:

- Put boot.firm (Luma 10.0.1) on root SD as always
- Put boot.91 (Luma 9.x) on root SD
- Boot into Luma 10.0.1
- Run Homebrew app (For example let's call it "Luma Firm Switcher")
- Choose Luma version and press button A, 3DS reboots into selected Luma version

The homebrew app when started let's you choose what version, then renames boot.firm to boot.10 and boot.91 to boot.firm and reboots the 3DS into Luma 9.1

When you want to go back to 10.0.1, boot the homebrew app again and switch, reboot.
There used to be a homebrew app like that before luma switched to .firm format.

Why should this be different then using chainloading?
- Straight booting in luma (Not through Godmode9)
Cause now you boot Luma 10.0.1 but straight to Godmode9 to chainload Luma 9.1 (Booting partially Luma 10 and then full Luma 9

- When swapping boot.firm you boot straight into the correct Luma version

so if I'm understanding right, the only real way to get luma 9.1 and ntr to work together is by replacing the boot.firm on the root of the sd card rather than chain loading it? probably not worth it then. the only thing I'm wanting with ntr is to be able to use kit-kat slim with the 3ds screen showing up on my computer or tv, then being able to use the wii u pro controller. I'm not interested in cheats or anything, just that.
