i was going to buy a 400+gb sd card for my switch ! for updates and some games
is going to be possible in the future to have nsp files of anykind on a external hdd ? maybe i can hold off buying a sd card
400gb cost around 70 euros

If you mean storing nsp files on a HDD, of course it's possible. Files are files. You can store any files on a hard disk.

If you mean installing nsp files on a HDD, then no, not possible right now, and possibly never will be.
With that said, you can run games off a HDD (in xci format) with SXOS. It saves you from having to buy a big microSD, but then, you lose portability, and you have to buy that external HDD, and also buy SXOS. Decisions, decisions...

OP your best bet is to buy a 5TB external HDD for $100 and just a regular 128gb for $20 once you get done with a game just install a newer one.

No need to have 60 games on your switch if all you are playing is 3 games.

Thats why I said just buy the external HD it's going to be cheaper than spending $60 on a 400gb a 2TB costs the same thing. I have like 70 games on my external HDD and like 30 on my switch (ironically that has 400gb) but my 3 400gb cards was included when I had bought my switch and bundled with a few games.

If you have a 128gb and a 2 or 4TB for game storage you are golden.

already have 5tb for my xci games but the sd card was for updates and dlc bought 500gb sd card i dont have to worry now ;)
