Hi folks, I just had my RCM Jig come in the mail and decided to take a crack at hacking my unmolested Switch running 7.0.1 Firmware under XAW100717XXXXX as the Model. Why in the holy mother of donkey penis is this not booting into RCM mode? I'm not in the mood to buy another jig and shit, and so here's the low down.

I slide the RCM Jig down the right railing, all the way down.
I hold the Power and Volume Up Buttons from a completely powered off state.
And I get the Nintendo Logo.

I have Kosmos V12 on my 32g Sandisk SDCard.

If it boots directly to ofw then obviously the jig isn't doing its job. You can try the paperclip or tinfoil way to go into rcm but I don't recommend it.

1. press and hold the volume button first and then just press the power button once
2. if that doesnt work then as he ^ stated the jig isnt working and you gotta make your own from a paper clip

Had the same issue with my jig. I had to slide it all the way down the rail and when it reach the bottom just lift it a bit. Hope it works for yours

Is this a used one from Gamestop? I had one that the local gamestop had added some gung in the bottom of it, making jigs not able to fit without heavly modifying it. I of course didn't buy it because of this.

Linux do you think rreplacing the joycon rails and removing all of the extra stuff could fix it
Here's hoping they didn't patch his bootrom, assuming they had the needed tools available to do so

This was below the rail., but if you remove it you could probably remove whatever they put in there with an exacto knife.

That shouldn't be too hard.
and i doubt it would break the switch and render it completely useless simply because the extra stuff gamestop has crammed in there isn't proprietary and necessary stuff put by nintendo.

For all I know, it could been the user, or the person before from gamestop. I just never experienced it before so it was odd my jig got pushed out all the time. I was like "Okey, lets open youtube and double check so I'm not a complete baboon before I try to buy your Switch" and nope, my SX Pro jig didn't fit at all on the right side. The left side worked fine, but not the right one. Plus the screen was scratched to kingdom come so my wanting to buy it was absolute zero after the gunk in the rail slot.

Update: Fixed my Jig, took it apart and pulled the clips farther past the plastic case. Surely this isn't healthy for my switch but it works.
