Hey everyone, I just got CFW on my OG fat PS3 (CECH-Exx model) and I'm looking to play some games that I totally own in my collection (totally) but I don't want to switch discs all the time. I'm wondering what the best method is, the fastest read speeds are going to come from the internal HDD but these games take up a good chunk of space sometimes. I'm keen on FFXIII-2, and other PS3 and PS2 titles.

My question is... can you just plug in an external HDD? What kind of speed cap do the USB ports have? Or are there better methods to having a large library available.

It would be better to change the internal because it's laughably easy to do and you can always put the old one back if need so. Usb ports are 2.0 and you can run games off of them but you can only play one games at a time...
