Gaming noob help

im new my question is this. im about to mod a brand new darth vader psp 2001. im currently on ofw 3.71. should i upgrade the ofw up to date before i install the cfw? does it matter?
my other question is this, after installing cfw whith a pandora battery, can i go back to my old battery or do i need to use the pandora battery. i know its stupid but i havent seen any threads on it.

if you're going the "pandora-memstick" way, it wont matter what OFW you're on...

unless you happen to have the TA083 motherboard, then you would need to upgrade to ofw 5.03. NOT 5.51, then use the chick hen CF enabler and hellcats recovery flasher.

oh, and the pandora battery is just for flashing the system. I store mine away with a 512mb stick with all the necessary files on it to get back to 5.00M33-6 should anything happen while tinkering with my FW.
