Hardware No UMD icon

Hi,

I have a psp3000 running custom firmware C2. I used the UMD drive a few days ago but switched on PSP today to see no UMD icon and nothing happens with a umd inserted.

I have tried restoring settings and fishing around in the settings menu but have no idea how to fix it.

Any ideas?

First thing i would try is go into VSH menu (press select) and change usb mode to UMD and put in a UMD and plug it into your pc and enable usb, and see if your PC detects it as a drive with a UMD disc inserted so you can narrow down if it's the laser or a setting that's the problem

Tried, switching usb mode to UMD disc but when I connect to the PC it just goes straight to the memory card. There is no sound from the UMD drive at all.

well after an hour or so of fiddling and dismantling the darn thing and putting it back together the UMD now works. Odd!
