ROM Hack NitroHax 0.7

Nintendo DS homebrew developer Chism, has recently released 0.7 of his Action Replay-like cheat tool NitroHax. This application only works with original DS cart cames, not with NDS ROMS. The tool uses Action Replay XMLs and runs just about every Action Replay code I've tried.

How to use it:

1) Patch NitroHax.nds with a DLDI file if you need to.
2) Copy the NitroHax.nds file to your media device.
3) Place an Action Replay XML file on your media device.
4) Start NitroHax.nds from your media device
4a) "/NitroHax/cheats.xml" will be loaded automatically if it is found.
4b) If it is not found, browse for and select a file to open.
5) Remove your media device if you want to
6) Remove any card that is in Slot-1
7) Insert the DS game into Slot-1
8) Choose the cheats you want to enable.

ChangeLog:

Changes to menu

* New skin created by Pink-Lightning
* Remembers position in a folder when you go down into a sub-folder and up again
* Icon and description for NDS file
* Word-wrapping
* Smoothed sub-screen font
* Codes marked as on in the XML file are on by default
* Codes marked as always_on are always on

Changes to cheat engine

* If codes now add an offset if the base address is 00000000
* Counter only incremented once per running of cheat engine




It's a great tool, I just hope that it will support NDS ROM use in the near future.

Useless if you already own an Action Replay

I'd rather it be compatible with backups as well because I can only have 1 save for a game like Animal Crossing, and I'd want to keep my real cart legit and the 'backup' I'd want to hack with

I just think that this guy is holding back making it Rom Compatible to prove a worthless point -- "Hey, I'm better than all of you, bow down and beg for rom compatibility!" -- might seem harsh, but this is what I feel from this. Seriously, and honestly, who gives a flying crap if people want to cheat in the backup games? Does it matter to you? NO. Someone can just as easily create a piece of software with the exact functions of this that do allow backups.

I agree its quite a waste of his little app, its made for flash carts and most people who have flash carts download roms, I'd bet even he is guilty of atleast playing one rom

that said, I think when pokemon or another big game comes out someone will crack nitro hax and make it work with roms

stop complaining, i mean the real action replay cant be used on roms, why should this clone be able to? and besides, nitrohax works by dumping some of the game code off the flash cart, thats why he should he wont release the source files, it is a powerfull flash cart dumping program so people could dump their real flash carts since thats what the program does, and if you people think it can be cracked so easily, then do it, but he made this program from scratch and he is doing it for free, besides dipstar works fine, if you have slot 1 flash cart then buy a ez flash V expansion it supports dipstar.

yes it can, i can use it on my ez flash V, the ez flash V sells a rumble/gba/ram pack that supports dipstar, the pack works on all slot 1 flash carts, so you can use dipstar on your R4 or what not.

just think of it as buying a action replay for your slot 1 card, or a gba flash cart, some places sell it super cheap under $30 after shipping.

(works on all slot 1 flash cards, but does not support rumble on other non ez flash slot 1 cards)

Is the EZflash V expansion only available for the Lite or is there a GBA-sized one too? I need the GBA-sized one since I only own a regular DS.
