I figure the DSlite already has enough problems with hinge/case cracks as it is without this "slide controller" adding more stress to the casing. It looks like a "break me please" type of device that will get less support than the useless rumble pak.

At best, it would make a nice display stand for my DSlite.

I can't really imagine this putting much stress on the casing. Well, we aren't really quite sure what the hell they are planning to do...

First images from this thing, as posted in another lame thread I did. Oh yeah stole image from Dcemu.

This sounds like the controls could've easily been touch screen only... Looks like a gimmick to me.

Just for the record - I didn't think the touch screen was just a gimmick - but this serves no particular purpose when you have a touch screen...

I don't get it ?

So that attachment plugs into slot-2 and acts as a 4-axis motion sensing type device? Or does it sense movement underneath and you do in fact move the DS around a surface?

It does look like a gimmick, but as long as it won't cost no more than any other game I can't see it doing no harm.

Be interesting to see how it can be hacked to work on our carts. It looks like the all buttons are used (from the way its being held in the pics). Perhaps it could be played via touch screen if thats not to be in use.

Of course on an emulator the mouse could emulate it.

Sounds like a great novelty. And yes I said great novelty.

Of course the DS is a novelty. The Wii is a novelty. This doesn't mean to say they're not incredibly strong products that will last for a long time.

My friend had WarioWare: Twisted! shipped over from the States for my Christmas gift and I LOVE it. I can't believe they haven't already made an "accelerometer" that sits in the GBA slot. It adds a lot to games. Think of Monkey Ball, Katamari, Mario Kart, Starfox... the list goes on. And it would mean there could be some true portable sister-versions of Wii games ported to the DS.

This sounds like it could be a good novelty accessory. It does however mean you need a table, which kind of hinders its portability. And could an accelerometer do the same job without needing a table?
