Transcend regular sized SD, 128 GB and had it since a year ago. I didn't use this SD card for backup installs on the wiiu just to preserve this one.
But anyhow I tried two other SD cards and Nintendont black screens with the wiiu forwarder right after the wii logo. I'm literally the only user with this problem and I can't figure it out. I looked deep into my vWii to see what I can remove or whatnot. I even installed an old backup of my ios58 wad. Something is wrong with vWii for this to happen. But vWii works normal and even Nintendont works on vWii. Whats odd is that I can successfully boot nintendont from wiiu, only i I launched it from vWii first.

I'm thinking of making an investigation post with details about my issue and what I've tried.
What method of cfw are you using?

HaxchiFW via Haxchi (Not CBHC). But I've also tried Haxchi for HBL > Mocha then tried nintendont but still black screened. This adds to the number of things I've tried.
I'm unsure if my problem can be troubleshooted any further, I'll have to try things on my own accord

maybe outdated haxchi?

Hmm what do you mean by FIX94's forwarder dol? Isn't the latest build of Nintendont all you need?
I want to ask you something. Is your wiiu on 5.5.2, and do you have the system's update folder removed? I know this shouldn't matter but Im trying to match up with others as much as possible.

are you building these yourself or using the script? I have CBHC and am on 5.5.1 and have not removed my update folder, i never go online with my wii u so there is no need for all that for me.

Hi! I'm still using v. 4.451, the latest stable build before all these new features for WiiU were added a few weeks back. I'm just curious if enough of the bugs have been worked out of the current build that I should update Nintendont again? (I use a Wii and mainly play 20XX, for reference.) Thanks!

Um question, so how does getting a gamecube game through nintendont work on a wii u gamepad? Is that a thing now or its still being worked on? I had already tried getting to work a custom wii game but im not sure if a gamecube game works the same way?

you can use the gamepad only if you make a wii vc injection, you cant use it on regular vwii.

So I installed Nintendont on my Wii U yesterday following this video guide (because I'm a noob, so please bear with me), and I'm having some issues, unfortunately. I followed the tutorial to a tee, backed everything up, installed cIOS 56 through 58 (d2x-v10-beta53). So the first problem I faced was when I tried to launch USB Loader GX. I already had my HDD for Wii and GC backups connected (it's in an HDD enclosure with a power switch that was plugged into the upper USB port on the back of the console), but the loader just hanged at "Initialising USB device." Only thing I could do was unplug my Wii U from the wall. So I did a quick Google search and found this video does, where the guy has his hard drive disconnected before launching USB Loader GX, and connects it when the loader starts looking for a drive and initiates a countdown. This does the trick, but it's really annoying. Any ideas what may be causing this?

Anyway, USB Loader GX launches, I can't run GC backups from there directly, because it says it needs a .dol file in the same directory as the game. I going to settings and changing the path for GC games from SD:/games to USB1:/games, but then it gives me an error where it says the game has to be on an SD card and doesn't let me change the path to my external hard drive. Weird. So I tried launching HBC from within USB Loader GX, going to Nintendont from there and launching the game, which worked. But then the game (Super Mario Sunshine) was displayed in a 4:3 aspect ratio, so I tried to exit Nintendont by pressing R+Z+B+Down (D-pad) on my GC controller, but that did nothing. Weirdly enough, the button combination for restarting the game (R+Z+Start) worked just fine... I had to turn off my Wii U, disconnect my HDD, turn the console on, launch USB Loader GX, wait for the countdown, connect my hard drive, launch Nintendont, go to settings, and look for a setting that would let me change the aspect ratio. So annoying. Does anyone know what may be causing all these issues? Having to disconnect my main Wii U hard drive every time I want to play GC backups is annoying enough, but also going through all these steps is asking too much. Thanks!

Nintendont doesn't use a cIOS. It uses vanilla IOS 58. d2x-v10-beta53 isn't a good idea. It has compatibility issues with both some games and some hard drives. Its only use is to allow you to use a port other than port 0 for the HDD.

For USB Loader GX:
1. Set the path to Nintendont in "Custom Paths" settings.
2. Set the GC loader mode in "Loader" settings to Nintendont.
3. If it's mentioning SD you're either using an old version of it or your HDD may not be formatted/partitioned properly.

Hey, thanks for the reply! So, can I just install the vanilla IOS over the cIOS or am I screwed? I'll try changing the settings like you suggested when I get back home.

Anyone knows if it's possible to restart nintendont with some combo keys on the gamepad to select another game without having to go back to WiiU menu?

Is it possible to download an older version of Nintendont? I need a version from September 16 or so for testing purposes. Basically Im having issues with nintendon't wiiu forwarder where it black screens after the wii logo.

Sometimes I have the same issue too but even with the black screen when I press "A" is still possible to select a random game and it works

It's strange because after I press "A" and scroll down some games the nintendont menu appears bugged and I discovered that sometimes if I go back to the WiiU menu, run haxchi again and start the nintendont it works perectly (it's random)

Btw, I'm using a NTSC WiiU with haxchi, fw 5.5.2, using ploggy's (I think) forwarder with bootsound and tried with more than one versions of nintendont
