Hi,

I seem to be getting "Loading Patched Kernel ... 4" and it freezes.
I recently got my Wii U and updated it to the latest software version (Unfortunately my discs wouldn't run without it). Is there any hope of getting this to work for me? I currently have no controller activated as I wanted to test this before buying an adapter to use for it.

Thanks,
~ Mario

That actually only happens if you're using HDMI; I tested it on component and never had that issue. HDMI and the TV need to communicate, but it's a weird issue. Just an issue with HDMI and the Wii U, they don't like each other when the TV is off, but component/RGB are fine otherwise, not sure why.
weird. I tried that too before when the Update came out to play Wii on gamepad (4.0 I think) with the wii composite cables and it did the same thing (could not boot wii mode, turn off the system) or something to that effect.

Freezing at 4 means you have no compatible controller plugged in -.-

3 new games added to the compatibility list plus I rechecked Tony Hawk and Megaman X since the_randomizer nodiced mistakes on them

edit: copy and pasting usernames makes a link to that person...that's interesting

Thanks a lot for the response! Sorry if my answer sounded dumb, I didn't find any documentation on the error codes so I was a bit confused why it would freeze on loading kernel (Thought it was patched by Nintendo).

As for the controller adapter, would something like this be good? (http://www.amazon.com/Mayflash-Nintendo-GameCube-Controller-Adapter-Wii/dp/B00BS520SG)
Is there a certain controller .ini I would need for this? (I seen some included with the Alpha version files, however I wasn't sure if they would work.)

A first note: the error codes are located in the readme of the alpha.

A second note: I actually bought 2 of those awhile ago so I can still play brawl on my wiiU, works good for that.

Now your answer...Nintendont does not support wiimotes so the adapter does not work for Nintendont.

Edit: I don't think there is a compatible converter to support a gamecube controller that works on Nintendont, your best bet is to use a dualshock 3 and wait for someone to add wiimote support

Ah, which controller/adapter do you think would be the best?

Actually I think I was wrong...this one should work

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wii-Classic...146?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a7781a492

will change that for amazon link in a minute once I find one
That looks good! I'm assuming I would have to purchase a classic controller as well. (If I plug in 2, would they both be detected and be able to be used in the game?)
Also, would this work by simply plugging the adapter & controller in or would it require changing files, etc?

Sorry about all the questions!

Edit: Ok

Ok I found a way to get a compatible gamecube controller to work on Nintendont

you will need the following

your first link you gave me:

and this thing:
http://www.amazon.com/Wii-Classic-Controller-Adapter-PC/dp/B0089O4EB0

I mean it SHOULD theoretically work right?
Yep looks good. :)
Would this work by default with the launcher or would any files need to be placed on the SD card for this to work?

According to https://github.com/Nanolx/nintendont-controller it shows that a usb to classic controller adapter works...im not sure if the one I linked is the correct one or not. If it is you just plug that classic controller to gamecube adapter into it and it SHOULD work.

This needs to be in your controller.ini: https://raw.github.com/Nanolx/nintendont-controller/master/nintendont_wiiccusb.

but now it's getting kind of pricey lol. I might buy that usb adapter to try with my gamecube to classic adapter and update the thread

Also that adapter has 2 classic controller ports....2 player supported??????
