GSWE64 - Star Wars RS II Rogue Leader (NTSC)
&
GLRP64 - Star Wars RS III - Rebel Strike (PAL)

nintendont savegames, MC size is 251 blocks, (2MB) for each game.
Hi Nakata and everyone,

Is there a way to convert or edit lets say a PAL saved GC game data to NTSC? I have done a bit of a research and heard different results with people editing the file with a hex editor others with a notepad etc. Even I believe there was a Gamecube Saved data region converter somewhere... any info would be highly appreciated... I would to convert the GLRP64 (PAL) that Nakata so gracefully shared with me to NTSC.

Thank you

Pepois

Hi Nakata, I just had time to check the GSWE64 saved data and it says it's corrupted and can only reformat or continue without save. I got similar results when I downloaded the gci from gamefaq. Could you please confirm if it works on your end? Thank you!

Hello! I checked again and yes the mc files do work. You just have to make sure from the nintendont MC settings to be MC: size 251 (2MB) and separate (meaning 1 MC per game)

Hi Nakata thank you for your quick reply and your time to check back. I will definitely check again, perhaps by using 7zip the saved file got corrupted, I will try uncompressing the zip file with winrar and se if that does it. Thank you!

Hi Nakata, thank you again for your quick reply, oddly I unzipped the GSWE file (Star Wars Rogue Squadron 2) using WiiExplorer and got a similar result: corrupted memory card. Perhaps this because I shrunk the game? It works fine and once I format the card I can use it. I will upload my card and perhaps if you have some spare time, could you test mine? Thank you for everything!

Here is my GSWE saved file... https://www.sendspace.com/file/axqvop

How do I rip my old GameCube saves from my old memory card to my SD card in raw format? Tried searching around a bit and couldn't find clear instruction. I was fiddling around with the GCCM app on my old wii, but I kept getting gci files instead of raw.

BTW, I have a Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader save that I could add to the collection. I think it is 100%, but I'm not sure.

I also have several RE4 saves throughout different parts of the game all being completely loaded out with items and each one has a different weapon loadout so you can use all weapons.

My Wind Waker save is 100% complete in normal mode and the one where you are wearing Link's shirt before becoming a hero. Both are named Link.

I have a completed file of Resident Evil REmake, where if you load it you will start a new game as either character and you will start with the infinite rocket launcher.

And finally I have 2 saves of Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes. One is a completed save that will start you with the stealth and bandana. The other has those items and is saved at the end of the game when you arrive at the Metal Gear. Both won't give you the suit, because I liked the standard costume more. Would you like me to upload any of these saves?

And I guess it would have been on the initial list, but does anyone have a completed save of Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike?

Create a blank memory card file in RAW format, then, using Dolphin, import the GCI.

How do I create a blank memory card in Dolphin?

I've never used Dolphin before. I looked up instructions, but they don't seem to match up. I go to
Tools>MemCard Manager (GC)>Browse>It goes to a choice of USA, EUR, or JAP. I Pick USA, and I don't see an ok button. Only 'open', which does nothing for me. What am I missing?

If you mean create a new memory card in raw format in the GCCM app, I'm not sure how to do that either. I didn't see an option to create a memory card.

Here's an alternate method:

1 Click "Raw Backup" in GCMM
2 Open "Memcard Manager (GC)" in Dolphin.
3 Click the "Browse" button.
4 Select the .raw file on your storage device. ("Device:\GCMM\card.raw")
5 Delete each save except the one you want to keep.

Yeeeeeah this is the thing I did!

That is what I tried to do, but I'm sure I know what happened now. It says to press L and Y to do raw backup. I pressed it at the same time but I think it only registered the Y button. Which makes sense that both times I got gci files. Nothing happens if you just press L, so I bet if I hold that first and then press Y it will work.

That sounds very interesting... I hope you can convert them since I would be very interested trying out your star wars saved game.

Warm regards

Tested Star Wars and RE4 and both said the memory card was corrupted. I did what you said, opening the raw file and deleting everything except the file for the one game. I then closed out of it. Anything else I could do? I guess I could try the other method of importing the gci. Just noticed higher on the page of this thread that you guys were talking about Rogue Squadron II and III. Funny coincidence. All my files are in NTSC, so I would be able to help you anyway Pepois :/ Unless you know how to convert the region.

That would be great R1Skbreaker! If you get ahold of gci files... I could convert them to RAW... that's quite easy using Dolphin's Memory manager.

Warm regards

Ok, I tried messing with it to see if I could get the raw file out of a gci file but I've just had no luck. Funny, after hacking the Wii U so much now, this was my brick wall, getting my old saves on it. If it's quick and easy to convert it, could you please do that for my other files here? It's not too many.

Oh, I forgot to mention; My Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time / Master Quest save has both games 100% named Link. Not sure if that's better than what you got on here. Again, all these saves are NTSC.

The RE4 saves on there are my best ones. I put a lot of work into those. Did that same kind of treatment for the Wii version of it too, except I gave myself a headstart on that with a downloaded save. I could share those too if you wish. RE4 rocks.
