Homebrew Nintendont Format issues

This is my first post to GBATemp. I didn’t have the idea of making an account until I had this problem.

I recently downloaded Nintendont for the 20XX Training Pack. However when I tried installing two more games,the wouldn’t load properly. I found out the problem when I checked the game info. Both games had the Format section in red. The message was displayed, ‘Shrunken via DiscEx or GCToolbox’, I did not use either tool and simply used my unzipping software.

If there’s anyone who’s expierenced in Nintendont please lend me a hand.

"unzipped", eh?

Could by any chance the previous owner(s) of that zip trimmed the games?

True trimming, in the strict definition of the word, works by removing useless space at the end (which not only has no tradeoffs - else the data wouldn't be "useless") -

However, with optical discs, sometimes the real data is at the end (since the outside of a disc spins faster for the same motor speed), so there's appeal to remove useless data from the middle of the disc, which may or may not be problematic;

And further, some outright delete removable but valid files (ranging from console updates on consoles that have them, to replacing videos with 1 frame of black screen)!

This last one can't obviously be undone; the former 2 may be, but it's necessary to know exactly what and how was removed, and it's (for most people) something of little to no utility, so the simplest answer is really "find another backup, preferably one that you made yourself with known good tools like CleanRip"

The issue is that sometimes I don't have the Disc anymore. For example I used to have a second-hand copy of Wind Waker however once I got to Dragon Roost Island i couldn't proceed. Due to this happening when I was younger,I believed the 'Toothpaste' method would fix the disc. But it didn't so i stupidly ended up throwing away the game instead of getting the disc resurfaced.
