Nintendo Wii 2: 2011?

- Apple already planning "Apple TV" console, My guess is will probably be hacked like the original Apple TV before a port of guitar hero is released for it.

- Maybe we will get an honest to goodness "Nintendo revolution". Hello VR Suit and Helmet!

- With that said there is a possibility of a 4 console generation again (I wont tell you how that turned out) I'm probably not going to replace my 360 drive just yet, or grab a ps3 for that matter. Maybe we'll all be able to heat our homes from the exhaust blasting out of all the obsolete consoles! 'sigh'

Xbox3: Microsoft Hot Plate v3.0, Microsoft Jet Engine Simulator, Microsoft Wii (ha ha)
PS4: the "Superstation" (sorry TBS), Maddenstation, ATM Deposit-Station, Weigh-station,
Wii2: the "Wii Too", the Auto Wii (the game will play itself you dont even have to move the controller!)

Nintendo don't use the number thing.. they'll give it another weird name..

Now, seeing the success of the Wii, I can bet my pants that all the next generation consoles will have some kind of controllers similar to the Wii.. and Nintendo will probably try something different again, that approach worked well with the DS and Wii, I don't see why they would stop here.

PS4 is a safe bet for a name.. Sony has no creativity for names.. I miss SEGA.. Genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast.. those were cool names!

100% agree. 'dreamcast' was marketing genius, just too early

anyways the current wii has no HD or hard drive, and we all know nintendo loves profits from peripherals... i expect an external SSD/flash storage of some kind within the next year. think 1-5Gb for $49.99.

it's a safe bet wii2 is in development as we speak, with HD output and more power, plus some kind of upconverting for current wii games. a refresh of the wiimote could also happen

Online play, web browser, disc based. It was before its time. The VMU was a cool concept too. Too bad, it was actually piracy that killed it.

It would be nice if you could use DSes as wireless controllers w/ touch and motion sensor on the Wii

Yeah its difficult to come up with something cornier than Wii. Not much to parody either, the Wii is pretty well rounded IMHO.

PS3 will last..................... Sometime in the future.....

P.S I'm not a Sony fanboy, for I don't own a PS3, or even a PS2. I even bash the PS3 for various reasons.

I think it might be wise for Nintendo to release an upgrade attatchment of somesort with a conmplimentary fan and USB hub.
Since it would have to plug in via USB as its the only avaible port for such a thing.

I don't exactly know how the Xbox 360 could have any better graphics on a another console.
PS2 was amazing i bought one last week just for the amazing games that were on it.
PS3 sucks really bad the best game is motor storm and I can say it sucks.PS3 is going downhill.

Why does PS3 suck? It has a lot of good games, CoD4, Rainbow Six: Vegas 1/2, Oblvion, Skate, Resistance, and Metal Gear Solid 4 comes out next month so stop flaming the PS3, and that goes to everyone.
The 360 is a great console too, if you bashed it I would flame you too.

I think that the PS3 can do a lot more than it is doing right now.. from it's hardware specification, it should be more powerful than a 360, yet most 360 ports are worse. Programmers are still learning how to use it. Could last 10 years..

Microsoft is probably already working on something new, but should wait for Sony or Nintendo to make a move before releasing it..

The Wii should last while it is selling well.. probably 4 or 5 years.. the new gamers that the Wii conquered and that are pushing it's sales up, will eventually get tired of it and then Nintendo will have to think about something new (which is certainly already in the works)

I heard a rumor somewhere that Nintendo's next handheld is going to have motion sensing. That would suck.

Well, great thing is that now the Wii's jumped in, Microsoft and Sony have no excuse to just pump up the graphical juice. Expect them to make attempts to overthrow the Wii of its dominance over the casual market.

And for those of you haven't heard, there is a headset in the market that can read your thoughts, emotions and facial expressions, and translate them into a game scenario. There are also "Virtual Reality" helmets, where you basically just have a visor which is a screen. And head tracking, which tells the 'game/app/whatever' where your head is and adjusts the view to make the scene look dynamic, and thus 3D. All of those combined along with WiiMote-esque motion technology, and we could be seeing results near to the fake trailer we saw.

Along with how easy it will be to have amazing graphics by the time of the consoles' debuts, and hopefully better online services, the future's looking damn bright for the next generation of consoles.

Of course, the problem then is that games becomes 100s of times more difficult to make. Ah well, we'll see what happens.
