This is the “Switch Pro” We’ve all been waiting for. Some stuff about it:
7 inch OLED Screen
Wide Adjustable Kickstand
“Enhanced Sound”
New dock with wired lan
Appears to have a color scheme similar to that of the PS5, mostly white with black elements.
No mention of price or 4k, but will seemingly be sold alongside the regular switch for now.
Releases October 8th.

It should be called the Nintendo Switch Vita!
Ironic how the design reminds me of the PS5. Still, the switch has always been sort of the “spiritual successor” to the vita, at least to me. This revision is very interesting but time will tell if it’s worth the upgrade.

The thing is it only offers an "enhanced" portable experience and not by too much. The OLED is nice but that panel has bigger energy consumption. I deliberately got the Slim Vita because I cared for more hours of play since I was travelling a lot. It looks very cool and modern. I hope some special edition will be announced for Splatoon 3 or some other future game.

This is a laughable upgrade.

  • 7 inch OLED Screen - this should've been in the original along with the small bezels. Burn in will become an issue in these models, same thing happened to the Vita
  • Wide Adjustable Kickstand - Is this even a selling point? Do people actually play in tabletop mode? The original stand is very fragile, but there are a million aftermarket replacement stands that are sturdier
  • “Enhanced Sound” - Cool? The sound on the original isn't lacking and anyone playing in handheld mode that wants better definition will just use headphones. Speaking of headphones, where's native bluetooth audio? The PSP Go had it in 2009!
  • New dock with wired lan - This should've been in the original. Everyone who needs ethernet already got a usb adapter for 10€ off amazon a long time ago.
  • 64GB of internal storage - Cool upgrade, still not enough, this literally cost Nintendo nothing, eMMC is dirt cheap.
But it costs 50€ more? At most this should cost the same as the current model and the current model hould be discounted. The Switch is already 4 years old and this has the exact same internals.
Hopefully someone will figure out a way to run the new screen on older models, that'd be cool

Specs claim the same battery life.

If i want to sell my current Switch and wait for the OLED version, how do i keep the savegames of the games i have? (Pokemon Sword for example)

Meh waiting for Steam Deck.
Even have an SXcore waiting but then came the Steam Deck :rofl2:
