IIRC it's just shorter, you can use one made for OG Switch but it will stick out more.
Doesn't matter much, since you won't be docking it anyway so the part that sticks out will never be resting on anything. It's only like 1mm difference so it's barely noticeable.

Yep. It's a shorter connector. You can sand/file a Switch compatible USB Type-C connector down quite easily.
