Hacking Nintendo DS Charging Problem

I've bought a R4 card last week, and been played it quite alot recently but yesterday I had problems charging the ds. Everytime I put the charge cable in it charges for like 10 seconds and stops charging, and when I put it back in again it does the same thing

Anyone know what the problem is? Is it to do with the R4?

Does this happen when it's turned on or off?
You're sure it isn't fully charged already?

Let the battery drain a bit then try and charge it. If that does not work take your battery out and clean it. Put it back in and see if it works.

When its turnt off mate.

I'm defintely not fully charged, the battery level is orange.

let it discharge first

maybe your battery have died , (nds is from second hand ?)

yup. let it discharge first. after discharging you can usually still turn it on and it will run for a few minutes then shut off again. do that a couple of times to make sure it's fully drained.
